I hope this email finds you well and having enjoyed a pleasant (if damp!) Fourth.
I'm writing today with two updates. The first is that we will be canceling our monthly General Meeting previously scheduled for this Sunday, July 9th. While we recognize that there is much important and ongoing work, we also want to take a minute to recognize that some members of our Executive Committee have been working around the clock at the State House, sitting through many late nights in session to pass important legislation. Thanks to them and to all of those who are fighting day in and day out to pass the legislation that will advance our goals as Portland Dems! Between busy schedules and the fact that many are on vacation this month, we will be looking ahead instead to planning a great general meeting for Sunday, August 13th - we hope you can join us then!
In the meantime, though, goodness knows there is plenty to discuss! And we believe that community is a huge part of what we hope to cultivate here at PDCC. Therefore, we'd like to invite you to join us tomorrow, Thursday 7/6, at Apres in Portland for Dems Drinks!
