Happy May! I hope you had a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend.

I'm writing to you today for three reasons. First of all, we are still looking for a Vice Chair! There is no experience required - just an interest in grassroots organizing and a positive attitude.  We will be holding an election for this open seat at our next General Meeting (see below). Please consider attending and nominating yourself or someone who you think would be a great fit!

Second, our May General Meeting will take place next Sunday, May 14th, from 7:00p - 8:30p. And, in celebration of warmer weather, we are meeting IN PERSON at Fort Sumner Park! (64 North Street in Portland).  At this meeting, we will be

- Holding an election for PDCC Vice Chair

- Having an open conversation led by the PDCC Issues Subcommittee about the housing crisis in Portland and what PDCC, as individuals or as a group, might do to support relief efforts.

The full agenda can be found HERE. In the event of rain, we will switch to Zoom; I will send out a link no later than 4:00p if we need to go that route. We hope you can join us!

Lastly, we would like to invite you to participate in the Mothers Day of Action Rally this Saturday, 5/13 at Monument Square:

From organizer Chris Pyzik:

"We are seeking ally organizations and persons to help spread the word and join us on 5/13 to fight gun violence and build support for sensible gun laws."

Thanks for reading and we hope you can join us!

Best wishes,

Meg Harned (she/her)

Chair, PDCC
