Driving the Candidates!
Did you know that a hugely helpful way to volunteer is to drive the candidates, so they can knock on as many doors as possible? Especially outside of Portland, this really maximizes candidates' reach during a campaign. Use the links below to sign up by candidate for driving shifts here in Cumberland County. If you are interested in going further afield, please let me know as those shifts are epsecially hard to fill!
Drive Carrye Castleman-Ross, HD 83, Bridgton, Harrison

We're dialing voters in the 2nd Congressional District in critical House races by hand. We'll use laptops to capture responses. We've found many voters know their local reps well. Our calls have led with the local reps. reminding them Kamala and Tim will need Dems State House to White House to enact and defend their policies.
When: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00p - 8:00p and Saturday and Sunday from 4:00p - 6:00p & 6:00p - 8:00p
Where: Maine Dems Portland Field Office @ 30 Danforth (2nd Floor), Suite 214 in Portland

500 Election Day Signature Gatherers Needed to Help End Gun Violence
Sign up HERE
From the Maine Gun Safety Coalition:
"Can you volunteer on Election Day for an important and historic initiative to help end gun violence in Maine?
The Maine Gun Safety Coalition and its allies have launched the Safe Schools, Safe Communities initiative to pass an Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO) law in Maine to help protect our kids, families, and communities from another tragedy like Lewiston.
This Election Day, we need 500 volunteers to gather 75,000 signatures at the polls to qualify this important initiative for the ballot!
The campaign will give you all the materials, training, and support needed to ensure you have a positive and productive experience. Can you help?
An Extreme Risk Protection Order law in Maine will allow both families and law enforcement to petition a court to temporarily limit someone’s access to dangerous weapons when they’re in crisis. Family members are often the first to know when a loved one may potentially pose a threat to themselves or others. Empowering families to take action, through a court, will help save lives and prevent future tragedies.
Maine’s current law failed to prevent the tragedy in Lewiston. The Safe Schools, Safe Communities initiative is a far better tool that will save lives and help keep our kids, families, and communities safe.
But to make this happen, we need your help now more than ever.
To qualify for the ballot, we need to gather 75,000 signatures. The best way to reach this goal is to collect signatures inside the polls on Election Day, Nov. 5. It's the easiest signature gathering possible with thousands of registered voters ready to sign.
We need all hands on deck. Join the efforts of fellow compassionate volunteers, and sign up to gather signatures today! Please share this important email with your friends and family so, together, we can all make history and give Mainers the tools they need to keep our schools and communities safe.
We hope you will join us at this critical time!
The Maine Dems Voter Protection team is working to protect the vote and make sure that every voter's voice is heard this November and we need your help! Please join us for a training to be a Poll Observer on election day by signing up HERE.
Poll observers are the eyes and ears on the ground at polling places across the state on election day. They assist voters and ensure that every eligible voter can cast a ballot. We will train, assign, and support you to make sure that you are as effective as possible on Election Day. Poll Observer serve in half day or full day shifts. This training will cover maine election procedures, your role at the polling place, an d the technology we use as Poll Observers.
Poll Observerts must be physically present in Maine for their shift, but do not have to me Maine voters.
