JUNETEENTH: NOW A MAINE STATE HOLIDAY

Juneteenth is a holiday that celebrates the end of slavery in the United States and commemorates all the enslaved who suffered so unjustly under its rule. Starting in 2022, Juneteenth will be an official paid state holiday, thanks to a new bill signed by Gov. Mills last week. Congratulations to Rep. Rachel Talbot Ross (D-Portland) who introduced the bill and whose leadership made this happen!
