How would you spend $50 million here in Cumberland County?

Portland Democratic City Committee

Did you know Cumberland County is set to receive $57,300,874 this year in funding from the American Rescue Plan? This money is coming because Democrats took action to lead us out of the Covid-19 pandemic and into an economic recovery.

But our job isn’t done. We as Democrats, along with all residents of Cumberland County, get to use our voices in determining how these funds will be spent. So we are dedicating our July PDCC meeting to discussing the Rescue Plan Funds. We’ll first hear from Portland’s County Commissioner Jim Cloutier about opportunities for input and advocacy around the fund allocation, and then we’ll have an open member discussion about ideas for spending these funds.

Bring your voices, your hopes, and your ideas. President Biden and the Democrats delivered the American Rescue Plan, but it’s up to all of us to put it into action!
