February Monthly General Meeting
February 21 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
As Portland Democrats, we believe that our city does better when everyone does better and that we need to live in harmony with our environment and each other. Our goal is to foster sustainability, equal rights, social justice, and opportunity for all. City-level decisions, in particular, have a tremendous impact on education, employment, housing, economic fairness and well-being, land use, environmental protection, public health, and social welfare, as well as gender, sexual and racial equality.
As a municipal party organization, we have a special responsibility to focus on our city. We firmly believe that local decisions are informed by values, that local budgets are moral documents and that local institutions are the most significant point of interaction between the people and their government.
Our aim is to empower, educate and organize the residents of Portland to be engaged at all levels of government. This means mobilizing voters to the polls to elect Democrats and holding elected officials accountable to the values and principles of our party.
These values and principles guide our actions as a political organization, and as a gathering of concerned citizens engaged in our community.
