The meeting began at 5:45 p.m. As there was no chairperson of the City Committee present, Rep. Richard Farnsworth chaired the meeting.

Mary Davis volunteered as Secretary Pro Temp.

Herb Adams of the Nominating Committee spoke. Nominations for Chair were solicited from the floor.

Emily Figdor was nominated for Chair by Mayor Ethan Strimling, seconded by Sarah Rawlings.

Seeing no other nominations, Allison Smith moved to close nominations, seconded by Mayor Strimling. None opposed.

Emily Figdor spoke to the committee. Herb Adams proposed one unanimous ballot by voice vote. Emily Figdorwas elected chair by acclamation.

Nominations for vice-chair were solicited.

Tracie Reed was nominated by Allison Smith, seconded by George Clark.

Seeing no other nominations, Mayor Strimling moved to close nominations, seconded by Diane Russell. None opposed.

Tracie Reed spoke to the committee. Herb Adams proposed one unanimous ballot by voice vote. Tracie Reed was elected vice-chair by acclamation.

Nominations for Secretary were solicited.

Joey Brunelle was nominated by Jeremy Kennedy, seconded by Emily Figdor.

Douglas Lynn was nominated by Cynthia Hanlon, seconded by Elizabeth Duddy.

Seeing no other nominations, Ellen Farnsworth moved to close nominations, seconded by Tyler D.

Joey Brunelle spoke to the committee. A letter was read to the committee on behalf of Douglas Lynn.

Herb Adams moved for a show of hands. Joey Brunelle was elected 59-4.

Herb Adams suggested to the committee that Patricia Washburn be deemed “Secretary Emeritus”, in honor of her service to the committee. He spoke briefly on her behalf.

Diane Russell moved that Patricia Washburn be elected Secretary Emeritus, seconded by Harlan Baker.

Diane Russell and Herb Adams spoke about Patricia Washburn’s work for the committee.

Emily Figdor and Joey Brunelle commented how this position should carry no specific responsibilities, so that the existing officers can determine what is most practical.

Mike Sylvester proposed the the motion be amended to say that the Secretary Emeritus serves at the guidance of the chair. Jeremy Kennedy seconded.

The committee discussed the motion as amended, then voted unanimously in favor.

Nominations for treasurer were solicited.

Brian Chick was nominated by Justin Beth, seconded by Sarah Rawlings.

Seeing no other nominations, Ellen Farnsworth moved to close nominations, seconded by Diane Russell. None opposed.

Brian Chick spoke to the committee. Herb Adams proposed one unanimous ballot by voice vote. Brian Chick was elected treasurer by acclamation.

Harlan Baker passed a literal hat for the committee. Then discussed upcoming Delegate election and selection.

Jeremy Kennedy from the State Democratic Party answered questions about the delegate process.

New chair Emily Figdor proposed five committee: Candidates (for recruiting and supporting strong local candidates), Issues (for supporting and involvement in local issues – ballot initiatives, housing, minimum wage, focused on engaging this committee and the broader city), Community Building (to bring democrats together, connect, help further work of the committee, go on hikes, truman dinners, social events, thinking about building our community, network, relationships, connect as democrats), and Fundraising (in order to do a lot of the good work we undertake it takes a real budget)

After a very brief discussion, David Farmer motioned to create the committees as listed. The motion was seconded by many, and approved by acclamation.
