Next Meeting: Dec. 10, 6:00pm – “Let’s Flip Georgia Blue”

The 2020 election gave us many reasons to be proud of all that we’ve accomplished together, and it also showed us there’s a lot of work left to do. Long term change requires long term organizing — both during and after the election cycle. As the new Chair of the Portland Dems, I’m honored to continue in this work with you all, and hope you are ready to double-down our efforts to advance Democratic values and build the world we long to see.

I know many of us gave so much and worked so hard to defeat Susan Collins and elect a Democrat to the U.S. Senate here in Maine. While we didn’t get it done this time, we cannot give up — our state and our country need us to keep trying. And with Georgia in the middle of two Senate runoff elections, there’s still a chance that Democrats can win back control of the U.S. Senate on January 5th.

With the Senate runoff election in view, let’s band together as Portland Democrats anddedicate the next four weeks to helping flip Georgia Blue. Imagine a new Biden Administration expanding healthcare, fighting climate change, and restoring our Courts — without Mitch McConnell’s Republicans blockading every move! We can help make that happen by taking one action per week to communicate with Georgia voters and encourage them to vote for Democrats in their runoff election.

Please join our next PDCC meeting on Thursday Dec. 10 at 6:00pm to talk about how we can collectively help the Georgia Senate campaigns achieve victory over the next four weeks.
